Livonia Fire Department commemorated those who lost their lives on 9-11-2001 with a special ceremony 9-11-2011 at Livonia Fire Headquarters. The ceremony marked the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks and dedicated a special memorial built from a steel i-beam recovered from the collapsed World Trade Center towers. The program was lead by Firefighter Skip Allison who acted as Master of Ceremonies. The keynote speaker was Kevin Niedermaier, Director of Emergency Management for Livingston County.
